General Accountant – Woodmead

About the role

Adcorp Shared Service Centre is looking for a General Accountant to join its Woodmead office in Johannesburg. The role focuses on accurate recording of business transactions, compliance with IAS/IFRS and internal guidelines, and supporting the finance team with reporting and asset management.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain business transactions in the general ledger in compliance with laws, regulations and Adcorp policies.
• Process fixed‑asset accounting transactions, including additions, disposals, transfers and master‑data maintenance.
• Prepare and post closing entries, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Perform regular quality checks on documentation and support the preparation of financial statement notes.
• Generate statistical and regulatory reports, and provide data for balance‑sheet reporting.
• Conduct general‑ledger reconciliations and resolve accounting issues with business accountants and operational units.
• Collaborate with embedded finance teams and respond to complex accounting inquiries.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of IAS/IFRS and South African accounting standards.
• Experience with fixed‑asset accounting and general‑ledger processes.
• Ability to prepare accurate journal entries and perform ledger reconciliations.
• Attention to detail and capability to conduct documentation quality checks.
• Effective communication with finance and operational stakeholders.
