Game Engine Developer (Cocos2d-x, C++) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Game Engine Developer to design, develop and maintain engine features using Cocos2d-x and C++. This fully remote position offers an hourly contract and the opportunity to work on multi-platform games.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain game engine components with Cocos2d-x and C++.
• Optimize rendering performance, memory usage and ensure cross-platform functionality.
• Build scalable, maintainable architectures for deployment on mobile, desktop and console.
• Collaborate with designers, artists and QA to implement and refine features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex engine and performance issues.
• Stay current with advances in game engine technology and recommend improvements.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly within a distributed team.

Required profile

• Strong experience developing with Cocos2d-x and C++ on game projects.
• Solid understanding of computer graphics, rendering pipelines and optimization techniques.
• Experience deploying games across mobile, desktop and console platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving abilities in complex technical environments.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote setting.
