Fund Accountant – Newly Qualified CA(SA)

About the role

We are seeking a newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to join a leading global credit investment manager in Cape Town as a Fund Accountant. You will be responsible for overseeing investor reporting cycles, ensuring the accuracy of financial deliverables, and supporting the fund’s operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve quarterly reports prepared by fund administrators for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain strong relationships with fund administrators to ensure timely delivery of reports.
• Coordinate with administrators and auditors to finalise annual financial statements within deadlines.
• Provide precise feedback on fund administrator reporting and respond promptly to investor queries.
• Prepare, review, and approve documentation for capital calls and distributions in compliance with regulations.
• Review fund expenses and authorise invoice payments with attention to detail.
• Calculate investment performance, including hedge gains/losses, to support decision‑making.
• Collaborate with Investor Relations, Investment Operations, Deal Team, and Treasury to ensure seamless coordination.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with SAICA membership, qualified in 2025 or 2026.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with administrators, auditors, investors and internal teams.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks against tight deadlines.
• Organised, proactive and a collaborative team player.
