Front of House Manager

About the role

The Front of House Manager will lead the guest‑facing side of our new restaurant in Waterfall City, Midrand. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures a welcoming atmosphere, smooth service flow and high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily front‑of‑house operations, including guest reception, seating, and reservation management.
• Lead, schedule and mentor front‑of‑house staff, providing ongoing training and performance feedback.
• Coordinate closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Handle guest enquiries, resolve complaints and maintain a positive guest experience.
• Manage point‑of‑sale (POS) transactions, upsell promotions and support revenue‑generation initiatives.
• Monitor cleanliness, stock levels and compliance with health, safety and company policies.

Required profile

• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Proven customer‑service experience in a restaurant, hotel or similar hospitality setting.
• Demonstrated leadership with the ability to train and develop front‑of‑house teams.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as needed.
• Relevant hospitality or management qualification is a plus.
