French Voice Actor for CX AI Agent Voice Cloning

About the role

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to build next-generation text-to-speech systems with natural, expressive, human-like voices. It is looking for native or near-native French speakers with a standard, neutral, accent-free delivery to record high-quality samples for training and evaluating speech models. The engagement is a single recording session of about 4 hours; a second session of similar length may follow depending on the client's needs. Your recordings are used only for the client's internal CX AI agent and are not sold or reused.

Key responsibilities

• Record high-quality voice samples across diverse scripts (conversational, narrative, instructional, etc.)
• Deliver clear, natural and expressive speech with control over tone, pacing and pronunciation
• Maintain consistency in voice, accent and delivery across sessions
• Follow detailed recording guidelines (environment, microphone setup, file formatting)
• Perform multiple takes with variation in emotion, emphasis and style when required

Required profile

• Native or native-level French speaker with a standard, neutral accent (no strong regional accent, no foreign-language influence)
• A clear, natural and expressive voice; prior voice acting, narration or broadcast experience is a plus but not required
• Professional or near-professional recording setup (quality microphone, quiet environment, pop filter, etc.)
• Ability to follow scripts precisely while keeping a natural delivery
• Availability for a single ~4-hour session, with a possible follow-up session
• Willingness to have your voice cloned for the client's AI agent

Preferred qualifications

• Experience recording for TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems or AI voice datasets
• Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition or Reaper
• Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles (conversational, corporate, energetic, calm)
