Fraud Analyst

About the role

A fintech business focused on supporting entrepreneurs in the digital economy is seeking a Fraud Analyst to join its Fraud Operations team. The role involves reviewing transactions, investigating suspicious activity, and preventing fraud across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Review alerts generated by monitoring tools within the Fraud team.
• Extract and analyse data sets according to standard operating procedures.
• Conduct desktop investigations, reviewing transaction history and client documentation.
• Document findings, decisions and recommendations for the reviewer on duty.
• Monitor the business unit mailbox and other platforms to resolve fraud‑related client queries promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of all findings and decisions.
• Collaborate with the reviewer on duty and broader team, escalating urgent matters as needed.

Required profile

• Matric certificate or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in customer service, consulting, finance, legal or a related field.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills across phone, email and chat.
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain resilience and handle multiple inquiries simultaneously.
• High level of integrity, ethics and commitment to confidentiality.
• Adaptability to a fast‑paced, changing environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
