Forklift Operator

About the role

The Forklift Operator will ensure safe and efficient movement of raw materials, finished goods, and packaging within the warehouse and production areas. This position supports operational efficiency while upholding quality, safety, and inventory control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment in line with company policies and safety regulations.
• Load and unload stock, materials, and products from vehicles.
• Transfer raw materials and finished goods between production, storage, and dispatch zones.
• Store stock correctly and safely in designated locations.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock reconciliation activities.
• Conduct daily pre‑operational forklift inspections and report defects or maintenance needs.
• Complete required documentation and equipment checklists accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Adhere to health, safety, food safety, and quality standards at all times.
• Support warehouse and production teams in meeting productivity targets.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Valid Forklift Operator licence or certification.
• Experience in a food & beverage or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Previous forklift experience in a warehouse, logistics, or production setting.
• Basic understanding of warehouse processes and stock handling procedures.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays as required.
