Financial Systems Officer

About the role

Our client, a prestigious global law firm, is seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Systems Officer to join the Business Services Finance team in Sandton. Reporting to the Financial Systems Manager, you will ensure the integrity of financial data, support compliant client and matter onboarding, and provide expert CMS/Aderant assistance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate client, matter, payer and master data in CMS/Aderant and associated financial systems.
• Monitor daily exception reports, resolve duplicate or incomplete records, and ensure data suitability for reporting.
• Support end‑to‑end client and matter opening, verifying billing arrangements, VAT/tax details, class codes and documentation.
• Coordinate FICA, KYC, CDD/SDD and Beneficial Ownership compliance, maintaining audit trails and escalation where needed.
• Provide CMS/Aderant support to legal professionals, secretaries and business services teams, handling matter opening, payer codes, billing groups, currency queries and amendments.
• Assist with ongoing financial systems administration, data cleansing, reporting and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Relevant qualification in Finance, Business Administration, Compliance, Information Systems or similar (advantageous).
• Experience with CMS/Aderant or comparable legal practice management/financial systems.
• Background in legal, professional services or financial services environments.
• Understanding of FICA, KYC, CDD/SDD and client onboarding compliance processes.
