Financial Planning Analyst (CA(SA))

About the role

Our client is looking for a driven Financial Planning Analyst (CA(SA)) to join their finance team in Johannesburg. The role is ideal for a recently qualified CA(SA) with up to two years of post‑article experience in a commercial finance environment, supporting strategic decision‑making through analysis, budgeting and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and enhance financial forecasts, budgets and long‑term planning models.
• Analyse monthly financial performance and provide actionable insights to management.
• Support business units with financial modelling, profitability analysis and scenario planning.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and performance reports.
• Monitor key performance indicators, perform variance analysis and highlight risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to strategic projects, investment appraisals and business case evaluations.

Required profile

• Qualified CA(SA) with 1–2 years post‑article experience in commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering.
• Strong understanding of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting principles.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and eager to develop within a high‑performance finance environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong financial modelling capabilities.
