Financial Planner - Investment Advisory

About the role

A successful independent financial advisory firm, specialising in local and offshore investments and financial planning, is looking for a financial professional to join its growing team. The role is based in the Newlands office and suits someone with 3 to 7 years of experience in financial planning and investment advice. The client provides a book of existing clients and daily leads of prospective clients.

Key responsibilities

• Work as part of a professional team in the Newlands office.
• Meet prospective clients virtually via Zoom/Teams or in person at the office.
• Follow the established onboarding process to integrate new clients.
• Advise existing and prospective clients on their investment portfolios, including offshore investing.
• Assist clients with tax planning, estate planning and wills.
• Prepare and run regular investment reviews.
• Handle ongoing client queries and keep accurate records of new and existing clients.
• Monitor and ensure strict FICA compliance.
• Keep up to date with financial markets, tax regulations and investment vehicles.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience as a financial planner.
• Proven experience onboarding and servicing investment clients across different investment vehicles.
• Relevant degree; BCom, BusSci or Honours preferred.
• Successful completion of the RE5 regulatory exam.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Afrikaans.
• Candidates with the CFP qualification, or studying towards it, will be given preference.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time management and a strong aptitude for continued learning.
