Financial Manager

About the role

The Financial Manager will lead the financial reporting and control functions for a cluster of businesses, ensuring accuracy, compliance and strategic alignment. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will shape financial policies, oversee budgeting and drive continuous improvement across the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the cluster’s strategic financial plans in partnership with senior leadership.
• Manage finance staff, ensuring appropriate resourcing, succession planning and professional development.
• Design, improve and maintain financial systems, processes and internal controls to support reporting, planning and cost management.
• Oversee accurate preparation of financial statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations, income verification and complex journal entries.
• Ensure timely calculation and payment of taxes and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate inter‑company processing and provide financial data to Group finance and the Board.
• Conduct cost analysis, negotiate supplier rates and drive financial efficiency.

Required profile

• CA(SA) accreditation with at least five years of post‑articles experience.
• Proven experience managing finance teams and fostering a collaborative culture.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, internal controls and corporate governance.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable financial plans.
