About the role
The Financial Manager will lead cost accounting and financial control functions for Sovereign’s Further Processing Plant in Kariega. Reporting to the Senior Divisional Financial Manager, the role ensures accurate budgeting, expense authorization, and asset management in line with best‑practice standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cost reduction and cost analysis plans.
- Ensure all expenditures are properly budgeted, authorized and recorded.
- Comply with internal control systems and enforce strong procurement controls.
- Proactively manage division assets and implement information visibility systems.
- Prepare, collate and distribute financial reports as directed.
- Maintain inventory valuation systems and perform month‑end financial activities.
Required profile
- B Comm degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial management.
- Strong knowledge of cost management, technical accounting and internal controls.
- Leadership competencies and excellent verbal and written communication.
- Advanced proficiency in all MS Office products.
