Financial Internal Auditor Supervisor

About the role

Our textile manufacturing client is seeking a Financial Internal Auditor Supervisor for its Mobeni, Durban site. This is a unique opportunity to build the Internal Audit function from the ground up and act as a key advisor to senior management and the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and develop the Internal Audit Function, including policies, procedures, charter and risk‑based annual audit plan.
• Manage all internal audit activities across the group, covering operational, compliance and financial audits.
• Evaluate internal controls, conduct enterprise‑wide risk assessments and support implementation of control frameworks.
• Review manufacturing, inventory, procurement, payroll and financial reporting processes to identify weaknesses and improvement opportunities.
• Conduct investigations into suspected fraud, misconduct or control failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Present audit findings to executive management, audit committees and the Board, and track implementation of action plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Internal Auditing, Commerce or related field; CIA qualification is a strong plus.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant audit experience, with demonstrated experience establishing or managing an internal audit function.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial or FMCG environments is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, internal controls and compliance frameworks.
