Financial Controller – Roodepoort

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the financial management of our regional operations in Roodepoort. The role will provide financial assistance to the procurement division, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review management accounts and reports on a timely basis.
• Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with VAT, tax, customs, IFRS, and internal policies.
• Oversee month‑end, interim and year‑end accounting processes, including intercompany reconciliations.
• Manage capex applications, budgeting, forecasting and weekly flash reporting.
• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring accurate records for debtors, creditors and fixed assets.
• Monitor expenses against group policy and approve UCR numbers for indirect exports.
• Support the National Procurement Manager and Branch Managers with financial decisions.
• Assist management with ad‑hoc financial requests.

Required profile

• B.Com or Commercial degree; CA (SA) or CIMA advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in a financial role.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, tax, customs, IFRS and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the full Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards.
