Financial Consultant – OMF (Durban)

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for an OMF Financial Consultant to join its Durban team. You will provide advice on a specific range of financial products to an allocated market, delivering results through proactive customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver standard customer service, handling simple inquiries and directing complex issues to colleagues.
• Assess compliance with internal standards for routine inquiries.
• Receive and assist visitors, providing information and referrals.
• Maintain accurate customer data in the CRM system, recording follow‑up actions and sales call outcomes.
• Interview customers using a multilevel sales script to clarify needs.
• Prospect and develop relationships with allocated potential customers via phone or in‑person visits.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints as the first point of contact.
• Follow mandatory procedures to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Support routine business‑development tasks and assist colleagues.
• Identify sales opportunities through referrals and recommendations.
• Enter selected data into spreadsheets or standard formats.
• Participate in networking activities both inside and outside the company.

Required profile

• High school completion (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Strong customer‑focused attitude with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow established processes and regulatory guidelines.
