Financial Analyst – Finance Department – Gauteng

About the role

Diplomat South Africa is seeking a dynamic Financial Analyst to join the Finance Department in Gauteng. Reporting to the Revenue Management Team Lead, the analyst will support core commercial finance objectives, including budgetary controls, gross‑to‑net analysis, and internal control compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of gross profit components such as sales, trading terms, promotional spend, and cost of goods sold.
• Monitor net sales against budget, perform ROI analysis of events, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Manage cost of goods accounting, including import/export analysis, exchange rates, and insurance.
• Automate and integrate data inputs to enhance reporting efficiency and support monthly/quarterly variance reviews.
• Collaborate with commercial teams on initiatives, trade spend, and profitability improvement, and produce SKU margin and revenue reports.
• Maintain internal controls, support quarterly BPE and annual budgeting, and ensure accurate month‑end journal postings and reconciliations.

Required profile

• BCom/BSc degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Business or Marketing (honours preferred) with CIMA certification desirable.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar finance role within FMCG, including revenue and budgeting responsibilities.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Own vehicle with a valid driver’s licence and willingness to work overtime when required.
