Financial Adviser – Johannesburg

About the role

Provide professional and compliant financial advice, planning and product sales to new and existing clients, building long‑term relationships that generate recurring revenue for Sanlam.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored financial advice and product solutions to clients, ensuring all interactions meet compliance and ethical standards.
• Achieve revenue, activity and brand‑promotion targets set by the distribution strategy.
• Network, prospect and generate leads through face‑to‑face meetings, social media and business associations.
• Conduct comprehensive fact‑finding, financial needs analysis and portfolio reviews using e‑tools or a Para‑Planner.
• Provide ongoing client service, follow‑up queries promptly and maintain high client satisfaction.
• Document contacts, appointments, revenue and client details, and report weekly/monthly performance against targets.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• FAIS "Fit and Proper" status and successful completion of the regulatory examination.
• Registration with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for at least 24 months.
• Proven ability to meet production targets and manage client relationships.
• Strong understanding of compliance, risk management and treating customers fairly.

Required skills

• FAIS regulatory examination knowledge.
• Use of financial needs analysis e‑tools and related systems.
• Ability to work with a Para‑Planner for detailed financial planning.
