Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join a leading financial services client in South Africa. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy, efficiency and compliance of the finance function while supporting the business’s operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily processing of supplier, customer, payroll, receipt and disbursement transactions.
• Prepare and review monthly financial accounts and management reports.
• Manage statutory and tax compliance and ensure audit readiness.
• Maintain and improve inventory‑related financial controls.
• Strengthen internal controls, support budgeting and drive operational efficiency.

Required profile

• BCom degree (or equivalent).
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles.
• Minimum 5 years post‑articles experience in financial services, investments or funds.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of IFRS reporting standards.
