Financial Accountant

About the role

Zuydam Konsult Inc. is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its accounting and outsourcing team in Bellville, Cape Town. The role offers the chance to work with a diverse client base and develop within a well‑established professional firm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements, management accounts and working papers.
• Review and process client accounting records and provide monthly accounting support.
• Handle VAT, PAYE and other SARS compliance matters.
• Assist clients with queries, deadlines and accounting system issues.
• Work on Xero client files, including processing, reconciliations, management reports and client support.
• Support junior team members and maintain high standards of accuracy and turnaround time.
• Collaborate with managers and department heads on client portfolios.

Required profile

• Completed SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA articles, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in an accounting‑firm environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to work independently.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English, with professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Client‑service orientation, reliability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Experience with CaseWare and/or GreatSoft (advantageous).
• Good understanding of SARS compliance, VAT and payroll (PAYE) matters.
• Ability to prepare financial statements, management accounts and perform reconciliations.
