Financial Accountant

About the role

This position is for a Financial Accountant to join a dynamic finance team in Sandton, Johannesburg. The role blends technical accounting with project finance, allowing you to influence reporting, drive improvement initiatives, and support strategic business decisions. Exposure to the hospitality and entertainment sectors is a plus.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to IFRS standards.
• Support project finance initiatives through budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide financial insights for key business decisions.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, controls, reporting processes, and automation.

Required profile

• B.Com Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Completed Articles and registration with a recognized professional body.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in project finance.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and IFRS expertise.
• Experience with financial reporting, compliance, and ERP systems.
