Financial Accountant – Full‑time, Stellenbosch

About the role

CUBECOM is seeking a Financial Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations as the company scales its space‑qualified hardware business. The role includes processing invoices, handling international payments, and supporting monthly financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Capture customer and supplier invoices, process local and international bank payments, and prepare journal entries up to trial‑balance level.
• Perform general‑ledger operations, monthly reconciliations of customers, suppliers and banks, and maintain the fixed‑asset register.
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, financial reporting packs, and variance analysis against budgets.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, Income Tax and WCA requirements and support annual financial and B‑BBEE audits.
• Contribute to budgeting, rolling forecasts, and develop financial models for scenario analysis.

Required profile

• South African citizenship or a valid work permit.
• Degree in Financial Management or Accounting, with SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA articles.
• 2–3 years of experience as a Financial Accountant after completing articles.

Required skills

• Experience with Xero accounting software.
• Computer literate and able to learn new accounting systems quickly.
