Financial Accountant – Full‑time

About the role

We are seeking a driven and ambitious Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Pretoria. The role involves managing a wide range of accounting activities and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Approve and sign off on customer credit releases.
• Process supplier invoices on the ERP system, matching purchase orders and signed GRNs.
• Follow up with suppliers on outstanding invoices and statements.
• Liaise with clearing agents and reconcile their accounts.
• Prepare and maintain product costings.
• Process and reconcile company credit card transactions.
• Handle debit orders and customer invoicing.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation journals.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including GRN suspense accounts.
• Capture inventory transactions and reconcile stock counts.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Process foreign supplier invoices and receipts, including UCR bank notifications.
• Release inventory receipts and issues on the ERP system.
• Prepare, post, and release general ledger journals.
• Assist with month‑end financial processes to ensure accurate reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• Relevant accounting experience.
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience working with an ERP system.
