Financial Accountant – Construction Sector

About the role

Join a leading construction firm as a Financial Accountant, responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting activities. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and support the finance manager in strategic analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounting function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
• Prepare and submit accurate monthly financial reports.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations, and ensure compliance processes are followed.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns such as VAT/GST, FBT, corporate tax, and related compliance requirements.
• Assist the Finance Manager with financial reporting, analysis, and ad‑hoc projects.
• Liaise with external auditors, providing necessary documentation during audit processes.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Completed articles at a recognised accounting firm (essential).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using accounting software.
