Financial Accountant (Cape Town)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to join Communicate Finance in Cape Town’s City Bowl. The position provides hands‑on exposure across monthly and annual reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, forecasting and finance transformation projects. It is ideal for a recent CA(SA) or CIMA graduate who wants to build technical expertise while working closely with experienced finance leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in monthly and annual reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial information.
• Assist with regulatory, tax and compliance‑related activities.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Analyse financial data and contribute to management reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance controls, efficiencies and finance processes.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers.
• Maintain compliance with governance and reporting standards.
• Contribute to finance transformation and business improvement projects.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and support strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Recently qualified CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent finance qualification.
• Completed articles – highly advantageous.
• 0‑2 years of experience in finance, reporting, audit or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a commercial finance environment.
