Finance Manager

About the role

We are recruiting a Finance Manager to be based in Denver, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will lead the finance team and ensure accurate reporting, compliance and effective financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and ensure full compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements.
• Manage tax submissions (VAT, Income Tax, Customs Duty) and oversee the general ledger, reconciliations and inter‑company transactions.
• Lead external audits, maintain internal controls, and keep the Risk and Control Matrix and Standard Chart of Accounts up to date.
• Oversee the annual CAPEX budget process and monitor spend against budget.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of accountants and finance clerks, setting performance goals and succession plans.
• Assist with daily cash‑flow forecasting, working‑capital optimisation and short‑term financing.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, HR and Commercial teams to drive aligned decision‑making.

Required profile

• CA (SA) / BCom Finance or equivalent qualification.
• 5–7 years of financial management experience in a manufacturing and retail environment.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and costing processes.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Experience leading teams and working cross‑functionally with operations.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (JDE – advantageous).
• High proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
