Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager will have a direct impact on Sorbet Group’s operations by analysing financial performance, shaping strategy, and supporting growth initiatives. Reporting to the Finance Executive for Retail Business Development and sitting on the executive committee, the role requires strong communication across multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the overall functioning of Sorbet Group’s finance departments and implement effective management control mechanisms.
• Conduct systems analysis, develop and enhance financial systems, and maintain business models.
• Lead strategic financial analysis, annual operating plan, and three‑year business strategy.
• Sign‑off on operating and capital expenditures, employment agreements, acquisitions and disposals in line with the Responsibility Assignment Matrix.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, EXCO reporting, variance analysis, and group reporting packs.
• Manage external audit, prepare annual financial statements, and maintain the Internal Financial Control register.
• Oversee internal audit, implement recommended controls, and manage B‑BEEE scorecard verification.
• Handle banking relationships, cash‑flow forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial, tax and VAT advisory to franchisees, conduct valuations, and review franchisee cash forecasts.
• Design and implement franchisee financial frameworks, deliver quarterly training, and benchmark franchisee performance.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of current accounting practices and trends.
• Experience raising capital and adapting to organisational change.
• Proven leadership ability with clear, effective communication skills.
• Ability to work at senior executive level and influence multiple stakeholders.
