Field Service Technician

About the role

Normet is seeking a Field Service Technician to join its Aftermarket Service team in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for delivering on‑site services, repairs, commissioning and technical training for mining equipment across Africa, supporting the company’s mission to improve safety and productivity in underground construction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs and commissioning of mining machines on customer sites.
• Provide technical training to client personnel on equipment operation and safety.
• Collaborate with the service team, production, sales and the technical support unit in Finland to improve existing and new products.
• Document service activities and report findings to internal stakeholders.
• Travel within the region as required to meet service commitments.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent with a trade certificate.
• Minimum three years of experience working on surface or underground mining equipment.
• Fluent in English and able to read technical documentation.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
