Field Service Team Manager - Eastern and Southern Africa

About the role

Alfa Laval MESEA is looking for a Field Service Team Manager for its Service Operations Organization, reporting to the Regional Field Service Manager. You will lead the service transformation of a team of Field Service Engineers covering decanters, high-speed separators and heat exchangers across the Eastern and Southern Africa region, balancing customer needs, business goals and team well-being.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate team members to deliver an excellent customer experience and meet service market demands.
• Build a strong QHSE culture and lead the team with a customer-oriented mindset.
• Select Field Service Engineers with the right skills in close cooperation with coordinators for complex jobs.
• Make sure the team has the right, fit-for-purpose tools.
• Develop, motivate and coach direct reports, manage basic performance issues and conduct employee reviews with competence profiles and skills matrix updates.
• Manage people in remote areas and ensure timely job handovers for invoicing.
• Drive continuous efficiency improvements, implement change management and follow up on KPIs.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Engineering or similar.
• At least 5 years of experience managing teams of technicians or engineers.
• Strong experience in service, maintenance, repair and assistance processes.
• Knowledge of Alfa Laval equipment is valued.
• High business acumen, customer-focused and sales-oriented, persistent, flexible and resilient.
