Field & Counter Area Manager & Trainer – Skincare Brands

About the role

The Field & Counter Area Manager & Trainer will oversee the sell‑out performance of assigned skincare brand counters, while training and coaching both brand and field staff in fragrance and cosmetics expertise. Reporting to the Direct Select NSM and the Indirect Brand Manager, the role combines sales management, stock control and event execution to drive brand growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage sell‑out and support sell‑in of brand counters, applying the “PRIDE” selling technique.
• Set, monitor and communicate sales targets to brand ambassadors and counter staff.
• Plan, support and execute monthly promotional and launch events across multiple retail doors.
• Conduct weekly visits to staffed counters, spending at least four days in trade and one day in the office.
• Monitor competitor pricing and promotions, and report findings to NSM and Brand Manager.
• Oversee stock management, planogram implementation and out‑of‑stock minimisation.
• Recruit, assess and develop counter staff, maintaining a talent succession pool.
• Compile daily call reports and monthly performance reports for senior management.
• Coordinate visual merchandising, tester availability and credit note handling.
• Capture and submit digital images of launches and promotions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in skincare or cosmetics retail management.
• Strong ability to train, coach and develop sales teams.
• Excellent organisational skills with a focus on achieving sales targets.
• Willingness to travel regularly to retail locations and attend weekend events.
• Good analytical skills to monitor sales data and competitor activity.
