Fashion Designer – Seasonal Collections

About the role

The Fix is looking for a creative Fashion Designer to lead the end‑to‑end design process for seasonal merchandise. You will translate global trends into commercial collections, ensuring each piece aligns with brand personality and retail expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Create the look and feel for seasonal ranges, defining silhouette, styling, fabrics, prints and colours based on international trends.
• Brief graphic designers and out‑work teams on trend and branding direction.
• Present key items to the Foschini retail team, considering platform fabrics and price points.
• Monitor weekly sales and seasonal developments to keep the brand relevant.
• Produce detailed CAD drawings and tech packs for cost‑effective production.
• Provide test options for new product categories and iterate existing lines.
• Supply buying teams with aspirational trend information.
• Manage the design critical path, coordinating with merchandise, fabric, pattern and sample room teams.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a design role.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and trims.
• Commercial eye with ability to interpret international trends for the customer.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills.
