Facilities Officer

About the role

Icebolethu Group is looking for a highly organized and commercially minded Facilities Officer to manage its regional portfolio of mortuaries, FSP branches, fleet and warehouse facilities in KwaZulu‑Natal. You will ensure that all assets remain safe, compliant, cost‑effective and fully operational to support business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day regional facilities operations and execute preventative and reactive maintenance schedules.
• Source quotations, manage budgets, track expenditures and authorise payments after verifying contractor work quality.
• Administer lease agreements, coordinate landlord maintenance obligations and maintain accurate asset registers.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, conduct safety inspections and manage security systems such as CCTV, alarms and access control.
• Monitor water and electricity consumption, manage cleaning service level agreements and lead minor capital renovation projects.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) with a National Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Property, Building, Construction Management or Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience overseeing multiple facilities across varied locations.
• Proven track record in contractor management, budget administration, procurement and lease administration.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively, including after‑hours standby emergencies.
• Project Management or OHS qualifications are an advantage.
