Facilities & Hospitality Manager – Multi‑Venue Operations (Eastern Cape)

About the role

The position leads the food‑and‑beverage operation of a SANParks concession in the Eastern Cape, overseeing a sit‑down restaurant, a bush‑braai boma, a coffee & grab‑and‑go outlet and event‑catering services. The manager lives on‑site and is accountable for profit‑and‑loss, guest experience and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Direct day‑to‑day operations across all venues, including pre‑dawn coffee service, dinner service and evening drinks.
• Manage a team of approximately 40 staff, including transport, housing and welfare logistics.
• Maintain food quality, brand standards and compliance with SANParks regulations.
• Develop and grow revenue streams from restaurant, boma events, coffee sales, meal packs and weddings/conferences.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns and operational issues on‑site, with support up to one hour away.
• Engage with SANParks representatives, board members and park personnel at all levels.
• Ensure financial performance, budgeting and reporting for the standalone business unit.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) required; tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management or Business Management preferred.
• 8–10 years of management experience in a recognised hospitality, restaurant, premium café or food‑retail environment.
• Entrepreneurial, owner‑mindset with ability to work flexible, extended hours in a remote setting.
