Extrusion Operator – Pet Food (On‑site)

About the role

The Extrusion Operator will run our pet‑food production lines, primarily the extrusion line, while also supporting batching, loading and packing operations. You will ensure safe, high‑quality output by following SOPs, GMP/HACCP standards and health‑and‑safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Start‑up, change‑over, operate and shut‑down extrusion, batching, loading and packing lines according to SOPs and checklists.
• Monitor process parameters (temperature, moisture, pressure, speed, weights, metal‑detector readings) and make approved adjustments.
• Maintain material flow, weigh and load ingredients, premixes and packaging materials per formulations and work orders.
• Move raw materials, WIP and finished goods using pallet jacks or licensed forklifts.
• Perform in‑process quality checks (shape, size, colour, density, coating, seal integrity, coding) and record results.
• Collect samples for QA, report non‑conformities and follow segregation/rework instructions.
• Carry out basic equipment care, pre‑start checks and 5S housekeeping.
• Adhere to health‑and‑safety policies, use PPE correctly and report hazards.

Required profile

• Ability to work shift‑based roster in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to follow SOPs, GMP/HACCP and health‑and‑safety guidelines.
• Capability to operate pallet jacks and, if licensed, forklifts.
• Attention to detail for in‑process quality monitoring and record‑keeping.
• Basic numeracy for weighing, measuring and weight verification.
