External Sales Representative – Industrial Machinery & Components

About the role

We are looking for a driven External Sales Representative to expand market share and generate new business for industrial machinery and components. The role focuses on the food & beverage and broader industrial sectors, requiring a proactive hunter mindset and strong industry knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking and industry events.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue and market penetration.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to deal closure.
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, conducting regular visits and account reviews.
• Identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities within existing accounts.
• Represent the company at trade shows and monitor competitor activity and market trends.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts and market feedback.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an external sales representative in the industrial, engineering or processing equipment sector.
• Proven experience servicing the food & beverage and broader industrial markets.
• Strong track record in new business development and account growth.
• Currently employed within the industry or with a direct competitor.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong commercial awareness and sales planning capability.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (essential).
