External Sales Internship in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

About the role

We are seeking a recent graduate to join our client's team for a 12‑month graduate internship based in Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal. The role offers practical experience in external sales and business development within the engineering sector, preparing you for a career in technical sales.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers.
• Conduct regular customer visits throughout Northern KwaZulu‑Natal.
• Support the external sales team with business development initiatives.
• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and sales‑related documentation.
• Follow up on customer enquiries and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities.
• Conduct market research and identify potential growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Qualification in Engineering, Business Management or a related field.
• Recent graduate looking to gain practical sales experience.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service abilities.
• Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn and travel extensively throughout Northern KwaZulu‑Natal.
• Good planning, organisational and time‑management skills.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work in a field‑based sales environment.
