External Sales Executive – Power & Energy Solutions

About the role

We are seeking a driven, commercially‑savvy External Sales Executive to generate new business for a leading player in power continuity and backup energy solutions. The role focuses on hunting new accounts across critical sectors such as hospitals, mines and large corporates, while also nurturing long‑term relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target industries.
• Engage C‑suite and senior decision‑makers to understand needs.
• Deliver needs analysis and solution presentations.
• Close deals, onboard clients and manage post‑sale relationships.
• Maintain and grow existing client relationships after sale.
• Maintain a strong pipeline and consistently achieve sales targets.

Required profile

• Proven track record in external B2B sales.
• Strong new‑business development experience (non‑negotiable).
• Comfortable engaging at executive (C‑level) level.
• Ability to manage both one‑off projects and ongoing accounts.
• Commercially savvy with strong closing ability.
• Self‑managed, proactive and target‑driven.
• Experience in technical, energy, electrical or infrastructure sales is advantageous.
• Exposure to cross‑border or African markets is a plus.
• Willingness to travel across South Africa and occasional cross‑border trips.

Required skills

• Battery storage technology.
• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
