Experienced Mine Manager – Underground Hard Rock

About the role

The client is seeking a seasoned Mine Manager to lead underground hard‑rock mining operations in Mpumalanga. This senior role requires strategic oversight of safety, production, and cost‑efficiency while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct day‑to‑day underground mining activities and ensure optimal production targets are met.
• Maintain rigorous health, safety and environmental standards across all operations.
• Develop and implement operational plans, budgets and resource allocations.
• Lead and mentor middle‑ and senior‑level managers, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Coordinate with engineering, geology and maintenance teams to optimise mine planning and equipment utilisation.

Required profile

• Grade 12 and a B.Tech in Mining Engineering (NQF Level 7).
• Valid Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
• Completion of a Senior Leadership Programme (MBA/MDP) – NQF Level 8.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in underground hard‑rock mining management.
• At least 5 years in middle‑ or senior‑management positions.
