Experienced Clinical Nurse – Neonatal ICU

About the role

The Clinical Nurse will provide specialised, person‑centred care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and implement advanced nursing interventions, ensuring safety and quality for patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic nursing care for NICU patients.
• Act as a clinical resource, supporting staff in documentation and care processes.
• Communicate effectively with families and health professionals, advocating for patient needs.
• Coordinate with nursing management to resolve care issues.
• Initiate and lead emergency resuscitation (RESUS) when required.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, develop care plans and monitor patient progress.
• Prepare accurate shift documentation reflecting patient status and staffing ratios.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development for the unit.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) qualification.
• Proven experience in a Neonatal ICU setting.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Required skills

• Emergency resuscitation (RESUS) techniques.
