Experienced Clinical Nurse – IFU – UCT Private Academic Hospital

About the role

The UCT Private Academic Hospital, part of the Netcare Group, is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering holistic, person‑centred care to patients, families and the community within a high‑acuity hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care in accordance with evidence‑based practice and hospital SOPs.
• Act as a clinical resource, supporting staff in documentation, patient assessment and care coordination.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the wider health‑care team, advocating for optimal patient outcomes.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) across all wards as required.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure seamless information flow between nursing management and unit staff.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Nurse with several years of clinical experience, preferably in an acute or academic hospital setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, dignity and holistic care.
• Willingness to participate in continuous professional development and uphold Netcare’s values of Care, Truth, Participation, Compassion and Dignity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in advanced nursing assessments and interventions.
• Competence in emergency response and RESUS protocols.
