Experienced Clinical Nurse – ICU Ward

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse (R/N) to join the ICU ward at Netcare Mulbarton Hospital in Johannesburg. The role involves delivering holistic, patient‑centred nursing care and acting as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care for critically ill patients and their families.
• Coordinate patient care within the multidisciplinary team and act as a patient advocate.
• Serve as a clinical resource, supporting staff in documentation and care processes.
• Maintain clear communication between nursing management, unit staff and other health professionals.
• Initiate and lead emergency treatment (RESUS) across the hospital as required.
• Ensure compliance with nursing standards, SOPs and medical directives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) with proven experience in an ICU setting.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families and health professionals.
• Capacity to act quickly and effectively in emergency situations.

Required skills

• RESUS (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) proficiency.
