Experienced Clinical Nurse – Emergency Department

About the role

The Professional/Clinical Nurse will provide holistic, person‑centred care in the Emergency Department of Netcare Pholoso Hospital. You will act as a clinical resource, coordinating patient care within a multidisciplinary team and ensuring safe, efficient emergency treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and document nursing care for emergency patients, acting as a patient advocate.
• Initiate and direct emergency treatment (RESUS) across all hospital wards as required.
• Collaborate with physicians during rounds to develop and review individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate shift documentation reflecting patient status, staffing ratios and any issues.
• Contribute to policy development, quality and risk management, and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
• Thorough knowledge of general and specialised nursing theory and practice.

Required skills

• RESUS (emergency resuscitation) competency.
• Proficiency with electronic patient records, e‑scripts and clinical order systems.
