Experienced Bookkeeper – Accounting Practice

About the role

Neo Batho, a well‑established accounting practice in Pretoria North, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage a diverse client portfolio. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, organised, and comfortable handling full‑function bookkeeping, VAT, and client liaison.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients up to trial balance.
• Process and reconcile bank, creditor, debtor, loan, and investment accounts.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end procedures and prepare management accounts.
• Calculate and submit VAT returns, manage VAT reconciliations and support SARS eFiling.
• Build and sustain strong client relationships, respond to daily queries, and onboard new accounts.
• Process accounting data using Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks, Xero and GreatSoft.
• Support general office administration and contribute to workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accounting practice.
• Proven ability to handle full bookkeeping to trial balance.
• Strong knowledge of VAT and SARS eFiling requirements.
• Excellent communication in English and Afrikaans.
• Reliable transport and a valid South African driver’s licence.
