About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bond Cancellation Secretary to join a well‑established legal firm in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will manage the end‑to‑end processing of bond cancellations, including deceased estate matters, while ensuring strict compliance with banking and legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process bond cancellations accurately and efficiently, adhering to all legal and banking regulations.
• Handle cancellations for deceased estates with sensitivity and precision.
• Liaise with ABSA and Standard Bank legal departments to facilitate smooth transaction closures.
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for each cancellation.
• Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks proactively.
• Uphold the firm’s standards of professionalism and client service.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of departmental processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Bond Cancellation Secretary.
• In‑depth knowledge of legal bond cancellation procedures.
