Executive Manager – Auxiliary Services & Training

About the role

The City of Ekurhuleni is seeking an Executive Manager to lead its Auxiliary Services and Training division. This senior position oversees fire safety services, emergency response training, and the strategic development of the unit to ensure compliance with municipal and legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise, lead and control the development, structuring and delivery of learning and development interventions for fire and emergency services.
• Strategically manage a functional unit within the division to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
• Direct and monitor the performance of the fire safety services section, establishing organisational principles and processes.
• Ensure administration and management systems support good corporate governance and the municipality’s image.
• Maintain compliance with the Municipal IDP, MFMA, B-BBEE, Disaster Management Act and related legislation.
• Oversee the training centre to guarantee staff are trained to required legislative and organisational standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 and a National Diploma or Higher Diploma in Fire Technology (or equivalent).
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a managerial role within a metropolitan fire/emergency services department.
