Executive Information Officer – Lending

About the role

This senior position leads the technology function for the lending product unit of a major African bank. The role is responsible for shaping the IT business model, aligning technology strategy with overall organisational goals, and driving adoption across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technology leadership, direction and innovation aligned with the product unit’s strategy.
• Define strategic architecture, roadmaps and ensure integration with the executive team.
• Manage internal and external resources, building diverse, high‑performing teams.
• Ensure system and application reliability, eliminate single points of failure, and oversee ongoing optimisation and monitoring.
• Act as the single point of contact for data‑related initiatives, promoting data availability and analytics.
• Serve as the single point of contact for security and cyber activities, overseeing secure builds and protection against threats.
• Participate in business unit executive meetings to prioritise technology spend and manage trade‑offs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior technology leadership within a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong people‑management skills, capable of building and maintaining high‑performing teams.
• Accountability for system stability, data governance and cyber security.
• Ability to influence executive decision‑making and align technology initiatives with business outcomes.
