Executive General Manager - FMCG Foods & Groceries

About the role

The Executive General Manager will lead a high‑performing team and shape the strategic direction of the FMCG Foods & Groceries business. This senior position requires a proven leader who can develop and execute a market‑leading strategy while meeting evolving customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a high‑performing operations and sales team.
• Develop and execute a business strategy that reinforces market‑leader status.
• Drive innovation and transformation across FMCG operations, retail, and wholesale sales.
• Identify and capitalise on expansion opportunities, including new business ventures and market penetration.
• Make complex business decisions under pressure while maintaining financial discipline.

Required profile

• 6‑7 years in senior leadership roles with a proven track record in operations and sales turnover.
• Current Executive General Manager experience within FMCG Foods & Groceries or Wholesale Retail Foods.
• 8‑10 years experience as a Retail Operations Manager in food retail or wholesale groceries.
• Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Strategic thinker, decisive leader, and financially astute.

What we offer

• Salary range: R160,000 – R210,000 total cost to company per month.
• Compensation is dependent on management and leadership experience, current job level, and relevant industry experience.
