Estimator – South Johannesburg (Construction)

About the role

The Estimator will prepare accurate cost estimates for large engineering projects, ensuring compliance with ISO14001, ISO9001 and ISO45001 standards. The role demands a solid understanding of project scopes, tender documentation and client specifications to deliver competitive bids.

Key responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates for industrial refrigeration, mechanical piping, structural steel fabrication and electrical/instrumentation installations.
• Prepare multidisciplinary tenders exceeding R20 million and manage subcontractor enquiries, quotations and supplier price negotiations.
• Support turnkey EPC and design‑and‑build projects across food processing, cold storage, abattoir and beverage facilities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years estimating experience in engineering/manufacturing, with at least 3 years on industrial refrigeration projects.
• National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field; trade qualifications accepted with relevant experience.
• Experience with EPC or design‑and‑build contracts and large‑scale multidisciplinary tenders.

Required skills
