Estimator & Procurement Assistant (Pretoria)

About the role

Support clients' estimating and procurement functions by accurately interpreting construction and plumbing drawings, completing material take‑offs, assisting with pricing and tenders, and ensuring that approved project materials are ordered correctly and followed through to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret plumbing, architectural and construction drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Perform accurate plumbing material take‑offs directly from construction drawings.
• Measure and quantify pipework, fittings, valves, sanitaryware, drainage components, pumps and other plumbing materials.
• Prepare material schedules and BOQs where required.
• Obtain supplier quotations and compare pricing, specifications, availability and lead times.
• Assist with tender pricing, estimates and client quotations.
• Place material orders with approved suppliers once authorised and verify descriptions, quantities and pricing.
• Follow up outstanding orders, back‑orders and delivery dates.
• Coordinate material requirements with project/site teams to ensure correct materials arrive on time.
• Maintain records of materials ordered, delivered and outstanding, and identify drawing revisions or scope changes that may affect cost.

Required profile

• Previous experience in plumbing, construction estimating, procurement or a similar technical role.
• Ability to read construction/plumbing drawings and perform material take‑offs.
• Good numerical ability and strong attention to detail.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and general computer‑based administration.
• Ability to obtain, compare and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Capability to work independently, manage deadlines and follow tasks through to completion.
