Enterprise Architect – IT Strategy & Design

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for an Enterprise Architect to shape and execute its enterprise architecture strategy. The role focuses on aligning technology road‑maps with business objectives, building architecture capability, and ensuring governance and compliance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and align IT strategies and programmes with business goals.
• Create and maintain architecture roadmaps, target and transition landscapes.
• Provide input for investment planning and align architecture initiatives with business planning.
• Maintain enterprise architecture views, artifacts and repositories.
• Manage architecture processes, change impact and stakeholder communication.
• Lead the architecture practice, embedding architects, engineers, methods, tools and repositories.
• Research emerging technology trends, assess feasibility and conduct proof‑of‑concepts.
• Identify and mitigate technology‑related risks, ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulations.
• Participate in architecture reviews and integrate with governance functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise and solution architecture, strategy development and roadmap creation.
• Ability to translate business objectives into technology initiatives and investment plans.
• Strong understanding of architecture governance, risk management and compliance.
• Experience building and leading architecture capabilities, including tools and repositories.
• Capability to research, evaluate and prototype emerging technologies.
