Enterprise Architect – 5 Year Fixed-Term Contract

About the role

The University of Johannesburg seeks an experienced Enterprise Architect to shape the technical direction of its Information and Communication Systems (ICS) ecosystem. This fixed‑term position (5 years) will partner with business units, analysts, and engineering teams to create architectural blueprints that align technology with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the ICS division and business stakeholders to define technical requirements, principles, and models guiding solution decisions.
• Analyse and translate business, information, and technical requirements into integrated architectural designs across applications, systems, and platforms.
• Develop future‑oriented roadmaps and technology standards that can be leveraged across multiple solutions.
• Design and implement enterprise‑level information security architectures.
• Provide long‑term design recommendations aligned with the university’s development strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• TOGAF® certification (mandatory).
• Proven experience in enterprise architecture within large, complex organisations.
